JESUS' Extreme "Home" Makeover

I Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

And truly, this is an extreme home makeover. That old self is dead, but like a corpse strapped to one's back, it clings like a stinking, rotting piece of road-kill. Unless i die daily, unless i keep killing that monkey on my back, that new creation which already is will atrophy and never mature into that GOD-intended creation, the born again child of GOD.

The key is surrender. Obey. This wonderful four-letter word is the key to enlivening that new creation within. And it's easy to obey, easy to surrender my rights to CHRIST when i know that He will always give me whatever it is i need which will cause me to grow into a deeper fellowship with Him.

So i have agreed with the Holy SPIRIT's extreme home makeover.

Rose's Birds of Paradise

Mom just wanted flowers...but i don't like painting just pretty flowers, so i asked her to give me some wise saying of hers.

She didn't really know what to say that she would also want to wear plastered on her (shirt's) back...

In the meantime, i symbolized the triune Godhead by painting in threes: three birds of paradise, three leaves, three fronds. Even if i couldn't paint a Bible verse, i still painted symbolically the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

On the back, i finally painted a version of I Corinthians 13, "Love is patient, love is kind..." since she and Ricardo were in love.

So Mom ended up advertising for GOD!

Sorry you have to read this with your head tilted to the side...something happened to the file as i transported the last two images to the blog!

Cozette's Big Heart

Cozette has a generous heart...she heard me announce at our Wednesday Ladies Bible Study that i wanted to borrow a computer to use for my blog, as i was limited to one-hour sessions at the local library. She was just going to lend me hers, but after deciding to buy herself a newer model, she ended up giving me her "old" one. And it wasn't one with a cumbersome elephant-sized monitor, but a sleek Toshiba laptop! i was so surprised and overjoyed that my face was split open with a huge grin from ear-to-ear...i jumped up and down like a Mexican bean and let out a great loud "Hallelujah, thank You, JESUS!" It was indeed GOD's answer to fervent prayers.

Eleanor "Big Earl"

This design was created for Eleanor, "Big Earl," as she sometimes likes to be called. This lady is down to earth indeed! She chose Proverbs 3:5-6 as her Ad-for-GOD, also one of my favorites which i put to practice with a lot of help from the Holy Spirit.

my Signature

This is my signature...after i complete a piece of art, i sign it with this logo. It may be interpreted two ways:

the recipient's heart and mine are now connected through this art,

or

i am one with GOD...His heart and mine interconnected...intertwined for eternity.

In the beginning, GOD created...

Any and every thing i've created and will ever create have come from GOD, for He is the Source from which i draw upon for inspiration and encouragement. Even the skill and ability to express these images are from Him. The Holy SPIRIT is the real force behind the work, i'm just doing the footwork.

GOD is the Artist of my life...i am but the brush with which He paints the multi-colored, multi-patterned tapestry that i am. Glory and honor, praise and hallelujahs to GOD, my Master Craftsman, my FATHER.

Today, i live for CHRIST. All i do, i do for Him, for He is my Redeemer. He redeemed me from a meaningless life of destruction and imparted to me all that He is. i am indeed nothing without Him...i would still be a walking dead were it not for His life that now lives in me. i owe all to JESUS...He laid down His life for me and now calls me friend. How can i not respond with utter gratefulness and indescribable joy?

So i paint with the thought of making JESUS smile. It doesn't matter how long a piece of art takes, how many hours i labor to make it complete. It doesn't matter if i am underpaid for the work, or if the recipient doesn't understand or appreciate that s/he is getting an original one-of-a-kind and not a machine-made print. i paint to please my FATHER and that i may sow a seed for the Good News through which the Holy SPIRIT may cause to bear fruit.

i paint so that i don't bury the talent my FATHER gave me. i want JESUS to say, "Well done, rLn!"
